The sound of fireworks and the sight of confetti drowned out the gloom faces of the Les Etalons. In our usual fashion we “wumbled and fumbled to the cup” a nation, egotistic in definition, for we are the giant of Africa, indeed we account for the most populous nation in the continent. In all that accomplishment, hard work and perseverance, there is no reward. For in the twilight of our victory our victor was removed and replaced by the (otherwise absentee) captain for the purposes of cup raising only. How is it logical to sub the only goal scorer of the only goal in the final game at the last minute (literally) is it to service our egos, or to always put the hard-worker in his place, on the side-lines as others bask in his turmoil. Its ironic for after the victory dance the ‘big boss’ coach resigned for the same reasons, that his work and dedication not be overshadowed by a foreign coach eventually. Dude what goes around comes around – serve the servants…just do it!
Apparently it was a week rife with resignations, “After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths…. are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry” the words of the Papal in what appears to be a gesture limited to a 600yr interval. Dan Brown just material for a “Mea Maxima Culpa,” book, whatever the theme or motive, the ripples grow ashore. Well if your right hand is causing you to sin…just do it!
On the security note, intruders in Pretoria these days are model-like females and sometimes require at least 6 shots to stop. Paralympic and Olympic track athlete Oscar Pistorius has been charged with murder after he allegedly shot and killed his 30-year-old model girlfriend, there are unconfirmed reports that Reeva Steenkamp, Pistorius’s girlfriend, was trying to surprise him and he mistook her for an intruder. Okay there are sweet scenting intruders these days, well not exactly the Valentine’s day massacre but a bullet in pyjamas. When in doubt…just do it
It’s not all gloom, Tiwa got engaged, she no do kele-kele love again o! Congratulations on your chancing, it’s a feat to displace the ‘less atomic element’ on the ‘periodic table’. Well you get two step kids with a coke and smile, sorry I meant pepsi. When in doubt – Just do it!
There are things that are inevitable, we as homo-sapiens are subject to, we grow, we need, we want and we get greedy. There is some insatiable core in our make up that helps us bite the fingers that feeds us, it’s a phenomenon that’s rife in these parts. There is no honor amongst thieves anymore, trend now is record labels and star signings. We saw the split of Mo’Hits, we saw the May D and P square saga, even the Naeto and Ikechukwu thing, it was as usual. The wiz-kid and Banky W supposed fracas is a bit much, where is the line, where do we just be in all ramifications satisfied? When in doubt and in the light of Davido…just do it!
Whilst groups and record labels split there are organisations amalgamating, “The merger of about four political parties to become All Progressive Congress is quite exciting. It is about politicking. Alliances and realignments are bound to happen. The system is dynamic. It is not the first time we are seeing that. It happened in the First Republic when NPC and NCNC formed a coalition. It happened in the Second Republic when NPP and NPN formed a coalition. We have seen how parties have emerged with the sole purpose of displacing the incumbent, “PDP is not threatened in any form. The only challenge that I see in this kind of fusion is that they are not driven by ideology. They are driven by people and positions. When in doubt and in the face of 2015….just do it!
Finally shei we were all told to stay away from drugs and all movies with Segun Arinze, well farewell our very own gaga. In the arms of our very own…well our very own Denrele, what an exit! From LA to Lag, so I am expecting her record sales to go up and some well attended collaborated effort in her honor from a host of artists.
…she just did it!
